status-completed (used this fix in V1.2.9) Some people are experiencing a problem where the auto link does not appear. This has to do with the fact that the DOM elements on which the selector is based are dynamically loaded into the DOM. The workaround for this is to change line 683 to: setTimeout(function() { $('#' + divid).find('.comment-help-link')....

feature-request status-completed (GitHub issue) Can we have the auto link appear when completing a custom "off-topic" closure reason? Bonus points if we can declare certain auto-comments to apply in this scenario (e.g. mirroring the "A" and "Q" prefix for answers and questions). Perhaps "C" for closure reasons?

status-completed There are two 'major' changes to V1.2.2 'Remote' comment source You can now define an external source for your comments, and 'import' them. This means that you don't have to manually copy comments from site to site and PC to PC. To do this, you click on the 'remote' link; enter the url for your data source; then click on 'get now'. The ...

bug Clicking on the icon won't reveal the comment-box anymore. One has to click the "add comment" link, for the comment box to appear, then click on the script icon to add the reply signature into the revealed comment-box.

Ok, not a answer but some visuals how to get it going for dummies like me. Install Greasemonkey (for Firefox) or Tampermonkey (for Chrome) - I'm using Greasemonkey for this post, but it's the same for Tampermonkey -- you will get a new icon on the top right of your menu bar AFTER restarting Firefox. Install the Script: While you are still logged in to ...

status-completed (something equivalent, anyway) I see a couple of comments here suggesting that Benjol is thinking of making the Welcome message configurable. This is a formal request for that feature. On Skeptics.SE, we have a meta-post which is a Welcome to New Users FAQ, and explains some of the ways Skeptics.SE differs from other Stack Exchanges. I ...

Excellent script, much needed. I adjusted the following to make it work: changed live by $(document).on( 'keydown', 'textarea[name=comment]', function(e) {}) added metakey so it works on Macs (e.ctrlKey||e.metaKey) And other improvements: only runs when viewing a question or in the Review/Task pages. changed @include by @match using a format that catches ...

I forked the script to create some quick-insert buttons. Given how often I make use of this, I wanted to save the extra click.

The comment linking isn't working for answers. On questions it gives links of the form: http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/114650/unfair-and-abusive-suspension-because-of-asking-for-help#comment-298448 but on answers it gives links of the form: http://meta.stackoverflow.com/a/114651/59303 I suspect that the new answer link format is throwing it out....

Confirmed the bug on a post that accrues comments much slower than a typical Stack Overflow question does. Currently, the OP's filter returns "comment_count": 1 on that post. There are no comments. I believe this is a side-effect/bug/quirk with how the API appears to be counting the comments. ¿Perhaps it is counting Ids in the comment table and not ...

status-completed Small bug: I haven't figured out at which point this happens exactly, but the script seems to be over-enthusiastic adding the "Welcome" prefix: Welcome to $SITENAME$! Welcome to $SITENAME$! Welcome to $SITENAME$! The code you show is vulnerable to SQL injection. Use the proper sanitation method of your library (like ...

status-completed Can you also add the auto link on the flag review page of 10k+ users? Especially when going through the "not an answer" flags there are tons of "thanks" and "question instead of answer" posts. Update: To get it working, there are only minor changes needed: Enable the script for /tools* on the various sites Add .mod-post-header to the ...

Excellent :) Bugs: Clicking show more comments hides the buttons next to your comments. status-completed 0 days? (I'm not sure what you want the behaviour of 0 days to be). It didn't remove the comment. status-norepro: Make sure you wait until the next o'clock after submitting 0, and make sure your access_token is up-to-date. Feature Requests: Hours, ...

Here is a GreaseMonkey script I threw together: // ==UserScript== // @name Old Comment Delete Button // @version 1.1.0 // @grant none // @author a stone arachnid // @include https://*stackoverflow.com/* // @include https://*superuser.com/* // @include https://*serverfault.com/* // @include https://*stackapps.com/* // @include https://*...

status-completed Request: I see a lot of newbies post a comment saying "Thanks this worked perfect for me. It's exactly what I need" on an answer to their question, yet they do not mark the answer as accepted. [username] plugs in the username of the answerer when posting on an answer, but it would be helpful to also include an [OPusername] (or something to ...

status-completed Can $SITENAME$ be changed for Christianity? Here's what a comment to a new user reads: Welcome to Christianity! ... Which sounds pretty creepy. For one thing, most folks who stumble into the site are already affiliated with some faith, which might or might not be Christianity. For another, it sounds like we are a cult or a church. ...

status-completed In GreaseMonkey the Name of the Script is AutoReviewComments but the name of the StackApp is Pro-Forma comments. This makes it very hard to find the app (once you forgot its name :D). Maybe those could be named equally?

bug Unable to click on Comment. When i click on the icon then it doesn't show comment box.

I created another version of the script modifying: Shift + Enter submits the comment. Changed @includes for @matches using another domain pattern. Used another script injection technique. Tried to solve instances where the script would produce an error wrapping the block where the error occurs within a try{} catch(){}. Then I discovered that adding a ...

bug status-completed When you post a link in inline code, like The URL `http://electronics.stackexchange.com/q/33477` the link is rendered as The URL `[What is the SoC on the ARM9 board TS-7800?](http://electronics.stackexchange.com/q/33477 )` What should happen is that any URL in inline code should be ignored. Additionally, links like [http://...

bug Links to StackExchange sites' meta posts don't seem to work. When I first hit Enter/click "Add Comment", the page doesn't do anything at all. The second hit forces a page reload, which is unexpected behavior. I'll post a comment below with these meta posts: meta.chem.SE meta.phy.SE meta.se

See "How do comment @replies work?" and "@Peter works for Péter Török?". Comment replies will often work with unicode. EG: Péter Török can be reached by both @Peter and @Péter. These are the documented rules (Not checked against latest source) for converting user display_name to comment-reply @names: Remove any spaces. Single quotes, dots, dashes and ...

I've made a userscript to do this. Get it at Github. It will add a button next to comments that belong to you after you have posted them (so not as you're writing). Clicking it will produce a prompt asking you for the number of days in which to delete the comment. Eg. entering 2 will delete it in exactly 2 days. It checks every o'clock for times that ...

Feature request: Moderator accounts can self-destruct any comment As a mod (on a smaller Stack) it's sometimes useful to let comments be right now, but you know they should be cleaned up soon. But you also know you're not going to be back here tomorrow, so you have to instead decide between no cleanup or instant cleanup. Being able to schedule others’ ...

This appears to be closely related to the bug: Why is comment_count=1 (incorrectly) when this particular filter is used?. The workaround from there -- altering the filter by: selecting comment.comment_id and selecting question.comments appears to work in this case too. (Although, in at least one instance, it seemed to need question_id as well. But this ...

I've made a couple of fixes to make this work again. While I don't fork and ask for a merge, here it is a copy of my script for convenience, the modifications are indicated with comments. The matches of sites has been revised as well. // ==UserScript== // @name stackoverflow-comment-reply // @namespace stackapps // @description Add "reply"...

feature-request Very nice comments thread. Could it be made to display threads 1 deep (like Stack Apps basically does), and maintain the chronological order of the original comments? For example (imagine dates where appropriate): I love it! One small request: can you please add a button to undo the rearrangement? Sometimes it's easier to see the comments ...

status-declined Can you add multiple pages of comments? Currently if you have a lot of auto comments, you have to scroll to see them, but it would be nice to be able to click next and previous to see lists of about 5 comments. Also, the "see through" feature is cool, but it should be activated by a click, instead of on mouse over. One more problem: ...
