Should there be a discovery API?
It would seem to me that a simple API that return an array of the API base URL and perhaps the common name of the sites that support the API would be valuable. Is this sensible?

According to the answer given to this question, it seems like the API limits requests based on the first one. (Regardless of the presence of a key.)

OBSOLETE - List Area51 discuss in the StackAuth sites list
The API works for Area 51 discuss, but it isn't listed on the site list. Would it be possible to add it so software using the API can access it without adding specific code for it?
