@GregHewgill: Is there any prospect of an update that works with Notification Center disabled?

@GregHewgill: Unless one hates (and has disabled) Notification Center and prefers (and uses) Growl instead. What's likely happening here is that I've killed NS and prevented it from launching at all, and SE Notifier is getting stuck on that. Is there any prospect of a revision that survives in that kind of environment?

I seem to be getting this behavior exclusively: my notifier always shows an old message that I've already read, never the latest one.
