I've been having a burning interest for computers since I put my 9 year old hands on a Spectravideo 328 back in the days. Since then I've been playing around with various bit-machines such as Commodore 64 and 128, Atari ST FM, IBM 286-type PC all the way up to AS/400, Apple Computers and all the current flavors of PC's.
I never was much for coding initially, spending most of my time playing games. After some feable attempts at grasping C, C++ I found Turbo Pascal that was kind of more in my taste. I fooled around a tiny bit in assembler, trying to bend the 80486 to my will but it refused me ferousiously. A friend of mine brought me to the world of Visual Basic with the promise of "no coding required". I was distraught and put all coding behind me.
Started to work with 1st line support during the mid -90's and working my way up through 2nd line and 3rd line support. Eventually I ended up with Perl in my hands and the bright shining light of coding has followed me around ever since.
A few years across the sea of .NET and I finally reached the shores of senior systems developer and now having a collected knowledge from many things regarding our beloved bit-friends.
"Nothing is so complicated that it cannot be made easy using enough layers of abstraction. Sadly, the opposite is also true."
