Is there any support for Area 51 in the new API?

No, Area51 isn't in the API; it's different enough from the Q&A sites that it'd have to have a rather different one anyway. There are currently no plans to make an Area51 API either. …

Support for OR constraint when querying questions based on tags

The tagged parameter to /search and related methods is an OR. This query will return questions tagged c# or java, for example. Or is rather expensive, which is one (of the many) reasons those method …

How do I find all questions/answers per a tag?

/questions take's a semi-colon delimited list of tags in the tagged parameter. If tagged is set, questions returned will have all the passed tags (ie. it's an AND operator). https://api.stackexchang …

Is question_id unique across all stackexchange sites?

No. Generally speaking, no ids are unique across sites. There are some situations where they line up (like linked meta user ids to their parent site user ids), or places where an id series is shared …

Querying "standard meta tags" for their tag wikis wrongly says they have none

Default tag wikis are a bit special behind the scenes, and the API simply wasn't looking for them at all. …

/me API endpoint returning 500 error

400 Error when attempting to retrieve authenticated user data

You need to pass your request key as well. I'm not sure what you're using that isn't giving you the error message back, but if you had captured it you would have seen it said something like: { "er …

Are there any plans to add Inbox functionality to SO API?

API V2.0 introduced the /inbox and /inbox/unread routes. They provide read-only access to a user's inbox, and both require authentication. …

Provide a streaming API instead of forcing API users to poll

Developing this wouldn't be hard, but scaling it would be rough. The problem isn't bandwidth or cpu/ram (at least, not directly) but connections. I did some investigation of COMET (aka. Long Polling …

Do calls on the 1.1 API and the 2.0 count against each other's limits?

The ip, and user/app-pair quotas are separate in V1.x and V2.0. The "30 simultaneous requests" throttle is not, as it's a DOS counter measure.
