About

FlackBot (whose name was inspired by this app) is a chat bot for the Stack Exchange network of chat sites. It currently hangs out in the Sandbox but it it designed for the Ask Ubuntu General Room. It is capable of understanding quite a few commands and those commands resemble a natural form of English. Here are some examples:

George: @flackbot What is the current time?
FlackBot: The current UTC time is Wed, 08 June 2011 17:33:34 GMT
George: @flackbot find user george
FlackBot: http://askubuntu.com/users/5/George-Edison
George: @flackbot lookup bootloader
FlackBot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bootloader

He's available during daylight hours, so if you want, you can head on over to the sandbox and talk to him then.

@Fosco: Well... me too. I will do my best to make this happen - currently some proprietary API keys are what's holding up the project from going open source. – George Edison Jun 8 '11 at 18:47
