The Story So Far Born out the Back-of-Bourke, Australia, I grew up in Dubbo, NSW where I started bookkeeping in 1999 using QuickBooks on a Pentium III computer in an old ATCO portable office.

I completed a business degree at Charles Sturt University with breadth subjects in journalism, industrial relations, PR, Aboriginal culture, ethics and law.

Into the Work World I started my career at Scolari Comerford CA a little accounting firm in Dubbo where I prepared and lodged my first BAS for a Carpenter. He was the brother of the senior partner and I was given a .csv file of his bank transactions which I coded, apportioned and summarised to calculate GST, W1, W2 and his SG obligation. Scolari Comerford was quite small at the time (15 employees) and I was tired of having no life outside of work, so I moved to Bendigo in Victoria where I spent about a year and a half working for Pectil Engineering. I worked as a fly-in, fly-out mudlogger on oil rigs in outback Queensland and the Simpson desert in Western Australia. Half-way through a $60m drilling program, the global price of oil tanked and the entire operation was abandoned. Being unemployed in Broome at sunset is one of the best places to think and reflect. After devouring Dick Bolles book, What Color is your Parachute? I decided to return to Bendigo and develop my technical skills in tax, GST and bookkeeping. I knocked on the door of Mark Hernan at Veracity Accounting and returned to bookkeeping for a year and a half before moving to Melbourne. I am currently employed with Elysium Accounting in Scoresby where I help small businesses and sole traders with their bookkeeping, payroll and GST compliance.

I live in the Inner East of Melbourne with my wife Stephanie.
