Björn Marschollek

I'm a software engineer in Skyscanner's Data Tribe, previously in their Direct Booking team.

We're an enablement team for Skyscanner engineers and run one of the biggest ELK stacks in Europe and infrastructure for real-time metrics (business and operational) using OpenTSDB, HBase and Kafka writing over 1 million data points per second.

Previously, in Direct Booking, I designed and implementied microservices and APIs, worked with IATA's NDC standard, integrated payment solutions with various providers, juggled Docker containers and got AWS to do what we want it to do. I've got a background in IT security and am able to get a couple of things done on the frontend side of things.

Fancy a coffee in Edinburgh or Glasgow? Just message me. I'm also always up for a nice hackathon.

In my spare time, I'm the author and sole maintainer of "Couleurbummel", a free iPhone app that guides you to German fraternity houses. Now also on Android. Time permitting, I'm trying my best in various machine learning and deep learning competitions, mostly on Kaggle.
