https://stackpromo.appspot.com works on my localhost dev server but not on the web. Try to submit the form with a valid post ID, and the Stack Exchange API responds with a 400 error. There's no difference in code between my local tests and the production version. What might be the cause of this issue?

I'm not using the API for anything that requires authentication. My app just fetches questions and answers.

Questions seeking debugging help ("why isn't this code working?") must include the desired behavior, a specific problem or error and the shortest code necessary to reproduce it in the question itself. Questions without a clear problem statement are not useful to other readers. See: How to create a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable example. – Brock Adams Aug 2 at 19:03

You need to post enough for us to duplicate the problem. But it's probably because your app registration is set for your local server and not the production one. – Brock Adams Aug 2 at 19:06
  • @BrockAdams My app is not registered. Do I need to register it? – sag Aug 2 at 19:35

No, you only need to register it if you want more than 300 quota, or need to do something that requires authentication. – Brock Adams Aug 2 at 19:37

You still need to post code that duplicates the problem. We can't/won't guess what your website is doing behind the scenes. – Brock Adams Aug 2 at 19:40
