I wear many hats at my workplace.

Primarily a Database Developer, but also programmer, web designer, DBA, sysadmin, and general office bitch.

I work for a small custom software house in Sydney, Australia. We use all manner of tools - but mainly MSSQL and a Rapid Application Tool called eDeveloper uniPaaS Magic XPA.

Isn't having fake boobs like taking performance enhancing drugs in normal sport? I would have thought that all-naturale would have been a pre-requisite...

@Dennis, Australia won Miss Congeniality. One day I'll be interested enough to google it to find out what it actually means.

comment App to monitor a beta site for all questions
By "Monitor" I take it you mean you want an active alert (say an info window or a popup or a sound or something) for each new question?

@jjn - that did the trick thanks. Maybe some other java-based software I've got will stop crashing now...

@jjn - fair enough. I went to the page to test my version of Java and it crashed my browers (FireFox). I shall check back here in 24 hours :) Have a good night.

I am a complete n00b when it comes to Java. I've got the .jar file and I know I have the Java runtime installed. How to use? I double-click the .jar file but nothing happens.

comment Announcement: StackExchange API Development Wiki
@george, yeah I think I would. I've already gone an added a page to it about gzipped data, because I wasn't very good at reading instructions so I raged against the machine for a good few hours finding that out.

comment Why have recent dev-tip posts been forced into community wiki without explanation despite ongoing community self-regulation?
I don't always agree with everything the powers that be have to say, but this one I totally agree with. Plus, this has to be THE most specific, narrow SE site of them all, with the fewest active participants, where rep means even less than other sites. So what's the big deal?

comment Is Stack API blocking Yahoo YQL services?
@Alex - the API will send you gzipped content, even if you don't request it.

comment When does the judging take place?
Haha, I don't really know when "tomorrow" is to be honest. It's already lunchtime friday for me. That probably means the middle of the night. Not that I'm holding by breath, others have done far more outstanding apps than me ;)

comment What is SOAPI and why should I care?
I don't have a huge need for the SOAPI as I'm not a .NET developer, but I love the tools you've provided such as SOAPI-DIFF etc
