comment Does stackexchange provide https access to its API?
Sure would be nice if the 1.0 or 1.1 docs said as much.

@George - when I try to make a request via an apache proxy, I get the following error: {"error_id":400,"error_name":"bad_parameter","error_message":"site is required"}

I'm using the MarkLogic built-in client, which unfortunately does not support gzip or deflate. I agree it's a bit egregious.

comment API Endpoint Changes Coming In Version 2.0
I was disappointed to hear about the limit to wildcard certs. This site digicert.com/welcome/wildcard-plus.htm proports to sell certs that will work for foo.bar.example.com and bar.example.com - Their copy says: Even more, DigiCert WildCard ssl certificates are unique in allowing you to secure ANY subdomain of your domain, including multiple levels of subdomains with one certificate. For example, your WildCard for *.digicert.com com could include server1.sub.mail.digicert.com as a subject alternate name.
