I am an explorer of the C++11 lands. I try to document the most important results of that exploration on my website.
I recently discovered that I have an unhealthy obsession with cultural diversity and the epic failures that result when we mix it with programming, in particular things related to text and timekeeping.
I also like to explore the intricacies of Unicode, text processing, and text rendering.
All the code I post on this site is released under the CC0 license, unless I mention it was written by someone else.
Trying to contact me? I usually hang out by the C++ Lounge. My e-mail is also easy to find somewhere on the Internet.
My latest pet peeves are:
- using the expression "Unicode character" to mean "character that makes my program barf": let me introduce you to the ʟᴀᴛɪɴ sᴍᴀʟʟ ʟᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ᴀ;
- assuming ASCII is good enough for some language even if that language is English: don't be so naïve! Let me introduce you to the Brontës, jalapeños, frappés, or résumés;
If you make any of these mistakes, I am likely to correct you in comments.
