...suggestions, please do as you've done for Sci Fi and Movies/TV - perhaps noting the third as a weaker choice, if appropriate. Thanks for your interest and efforts.

comment Stackathlon 2.5: Leader board for users active on multiple sites
I created the first biathlon, Biermeisters based on your suggestion. I'm not going to do the tetrology suggestion. If I do Meta sites, I would do Meta-only combinations probably. I had thought about Ubuntu, Ask Different, Unix & Linux before and I may do that (omitting Super User). I'll look at your other suggestions as I have time. I'm curious to see what can be done with the religion sites (in addition to the ones you mentioned). You may have noted that I'm not inclined to do very many biathlons. If you have additional ideas for expanding your ...

@Pureferret: Sorry I haven't replied before now. I'm not going to be able to do visitor-chosen combinations, but I did implement your suggestion for Gaming Geeks and I'm open to other suggestions.

I have implemented Math Masters (19 users) and Science Masters (1 user). Unfortunately, Quant and Econ resulted in zero users with at least 1000 points on each. Thanks very much for the suggestions.

... I was hoping that an SE person would repond to my support tag and give an official response regarding changes in throttling.

@BrockAdams: I had done as you suggested and used Wireshark. There was no backoff message (which my code handles) and there was no HTTP response code (after receiving a bunch of 200s during each run) to handle. I think it's the silent failure that is SE's response when it believes you're being abusive. It hadn't found my pace to be abusive for the previous 16 months so I believe there has been an unannounced change on SE's part. I'll add silent-failure detection so that it waits and tries again. No MCVE will be forthcoming, I'm afraid, since I don't have time to do the "M" part. Sorry. ...

True. "Response" would have been a better word. The other question has a confirmation rather than an answer or response.

That question may be a duplicate, but it's a poor search target and it doesn't have an answer while this one has an answer in the form of a comment.

comment Why do I get a throttle violation after 300 requests while using a key but no access_token?
I had a problem similar to this and it was caused by one query (which I only run once) which was missing the key. Running keyed queries more than 300 times causes an unkeyed query to fail for throttle violation. Fixing the missing key fixed the problem.
