Stack Apps is a question and answer site for apps, scripts, and development with the Stack Exchange API. Join them; it only takes a minute:

Here's how it works:
  1. Anybody can ask a question
  2. Anybody can answer
  3. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top

Now that we have a new merging/migration system that keeps records of all merges, I think that this information should be visible through the API:

  • Questions that are merged into other questions should return some sort of a merge parameter for most requests
  • Answers for the questions that are merged into other questions should return merge info as part of their revision history/timeline
  • Questions that are merged into should return merge info as part of their revision history/timeline
