Stack Apps is a question and answer site for apps, scripts, and development with the Stack Exchange API. Join them; it only takes a minute:

Here's how it works:
  1. Anybody can ask a question
  2. Anybody can answer
  3. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top

Simply stores unposted comments (using HTML5 localStorage) between page loads, so that if you leave the page you don't lose your comment.

Currently a bit hacky, but it works.

No longer works :( since… was implemented, I suspect. – Gilles Aug 10 '14 at 22:46
@Gilles I've updated the gist, working again now. – fredley Aug 11 '14 at 8:44
Works again, thank you! Additional suggestion: add https to the include list (HTTPS mostly works for non-meta sites these days). – Gilles Aug 11 '14 at 9:39
The comment draft still remains behind forever, even after posting it and after blanking the input box. Have you been able to look into this? – Gilles Aug 11 '14 at 9:41
