Stack Apps is a question and answer site for apps, scripts, and development with the Stack Exchange API. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am looking at developing an app for my company. Initially I was just thinking about the iPhone but then realised I should consider the Android OS and the Windows phone and also probably access via the internet from a computer. The app is really just a compilation of videos with a bit of other functionality (but nothing too complex other than the videos).

I thought about just starting with a website and then creating a mobile version of the website that is supported my mobile devices like the iPhone, Galaxy etc.

However, there are quite a few videos involved so I was thinking it might be necessary to locally store a video once it has been downloaded/watched (the app might be too big if all videos are included with it) so that users don't have to continually keep downloading the videos and use lots of data off their plans.

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to go about developing such an app? Is it better to have a website with a mobile version? Or is there an easy way to develop an just once and have it compile versions for the different platforms? Or would each platform need to have its app developed separately?

Thanks.
