Is the maximum tags for all SE sites (and those in the future) 5?

It would seem like this is the case. – Nathan Osman Oct 9 '10 at 17:23
@George Edison is right, there do not seem to be any plans to change this... – studiohack Oct 9 '10 at 18:06
So it's not something that can be changed per site – Jonathan. Oct 9 '10 at 19:28
Per site, no. In the future, who can say? – Rebecca Chernoff Oct 10 '10 at 0:36
@rchern: As this would have a direct relationship to the SE engine itself, I can with confidence say that it is unlikely this will be changed on a per-site basis. – Nathan Osman Oct 10 '10 at 1:28
@George, that's what I meant. On a per-site basis, I would not expect it to be changed. In the future could the number be bumped up to 6 across the network? Doubtful, but I'm not staff. (: – Rebecca Chernoff Oct 11 '10 at 12:55
Well it depends, in the database is there 5 fields which are for tags or is there a post_meta table which has 2 column value and key? If it's the latter than the tag limit could be increased on a per site basis. – Jonathan. Oct 11 '10 at 15:08
